Our Students' Success Stories
Speak for Themselves

"This school is absolutely amazing! My son has been there for less than a year but his reading and math skills have vastly improved. His confidence level is at an all time high and he feels safe to express himself while at school. He attended another school in the area for dyslexia with less than zero results. The difference we are seeing in him academically and socially is like night and day. We now have a child who loves to learn and even asks for extra homework. I attribute the change we have seen in my son’s approach to school solely to The Promise School and their dynamic approach to learning. The staff are experts in their field. They meet the child where they are academically and utilize every tool possible to engage the child in learning. We are so grateful to this school for the positive impact they are having on our child and our family—Shaye Ray

The Promise School has exceeded our expectations at every turn. Having tried other schools in the area, we finally found a school that understands our child’s needs and learning differences. The school offers a variety of services, along with OG, multi-sensory learning, that makes the Promise School unique and effective. We have seen tremendous academic growth in less than a year. Most importantly, they keep their Promise. The impact on our daughter and our family has been profound. We feel so fortunate to part of the Promise School Community!—Pete Frank

Amazing school and teachers! My wife and I feel so blessed that our child attends The Promise School. We were amongst the first families to join them when they launched the school—we had, and continue to have, full confidence in all that they do. First of all, they have created a unique blend of school and community where the children (and even the parents) feel more like family. Their blend of high standards, best practices, and individualized teaching paradigms has resulted in a learning culture that we believe is cutting edge and will likely one day serve as a template for other schools and institutions, especially since there is a dire need for more of this type of school in our country. Our son, like so many others, has unique needs, and we have watched with amazement as the gifted staff of The Promise School has tirelessly poured themselves into equipping our son to learn, grow, and develop not just inside the classroom, but outside the classroom as well. They are truly committed to the “whole child” approach for teaching and developing a love of learning in children with these specific learning differences. We have seen firsthand that they do all of this while nurturing a positive and safe environment that fosters personal, individualized growth. Everything that they do is integrated and intentional. The Promise School has taken the bold step of infusing a “think outside the box” approach to their overall curriculum without deviating from the foundational principles and Orton-Gillingham gold standards. Few things are as rewarding as seeing your child experience success in learning that leads to increased confidence and self-esteem!-Eric Long

The key ingredients to a successful learning experience are as follows: 1. A well trained competent staff who are committed to their mission and are willing to immerse in continuous education and training devoted to their primary mission. 2. A highly organized leadership team who expect excellence and model excellence each day. 3. A team of passionate educators and volunteers who truly love children, who expect the best of themselves and each other , and who have a dogged determination to ensure the academic success of every child in a psychologically safe environment. The Promise School provides all of the above and more. Congratulations! I am thankful for your work—Dr. Rallie Liston: Retired teacher, principal, and superintendent of schools, and most importantly, grandfather.

The Promise School gave us our son back. It is hard to capture just how much their team has meant to not only our son but our entire family. My wife and I are thrilled with our son’s progress in school as well as how he carries himself-- The Promise School has helped to build his self-worth. The staff challenges and pushes him in a way that is right for his learning style and learning differences. Their approach is built specifically for him with O-G and they have the highest fidelity to the Orton-Gillingham approach. What we love is that their approach for O-G is also carried through all the instruction. As former teachers, my wife and I are so impressed with how they differentiate their teaching for each student for all of their academic areas. Our son continues to grow and thrive. My best advice if you are looking to improve your child's trajectory is to act sooner than later—Wes Liston

Through years, tears, and sharing some of our son’s story with friends, trusted teachers, and even strangers, we reached out to the Promise School. After an hour-long phone conversation with Brandie, I knew immediately this was going to be my son’s new school home, and I would pursue any means necessary to get him there. They don’t make it easy to get in, because they will only accept precious, brilliant kids who they know they can truly help.  Our son is thriving, and his little ripples of success are more like tidal waves to us. The Promise School has changed our family dynamics in the very best way: taking the pressure off constantly wondering if our son will be ok. Each teacher loves on him as he is learning. In other schools, he was a burden—at the Promise School he is treasured--“he is a pleasure to work with” they say. His amazing O-G teacher told us “I wake up every day excited to see your son.” This school is special—they look around every corner, leave no stone unturned, and pour into our son in so many ways. We couldn’t be happier or more grateful—nor could our son: For the first time ever, school has become a place of comfort, success, and joy for him. So much so that he often tells people how much he loves the Promise School—a place “for kids with super-powers” he tells them—Katy Lopez
